Muay Thai icon, Superbon Singha Mawynn, believes that Muhammad Johan Ghazali Zulfikar, better known as Jojo, is destined for greatness in the sport of Muay Thai. Superbon even predicts that the 18-year-old fighter will become a ONE Championship champion one day.

Superbon, whose real name is Suppachai Muensang, shared that Jojo is unlike many other young fighters who often come up with excuses to skip training. Over the past three months, Jojo has been training at Superbon's gym in Thailand to prepare for his bout against Johan Estupinan in the ONE 170 event at Impact Arena, Bangkok.

"At first, when Jojo came to the gym, I didn't think he was that great. He was young, inexperienced, and I thought he might just be one of the many young fighters trying their luck in the sport," Superbon said.

However, Superbon's perspective changed after witnessing Jojo's work ethic and discipline in training. "He’s different," said Superbon. "At just 18, Jojo already has clear goals, strong focus, and he’s smart in his training. When I was his age, I was often lazy and made excuses to avoid training."

Last Friday, Johan, with a record of 25-8, put up a strong fight against Johan Estupinan before losing via unanimous decision in ONE Championship’s flyweight class. Despite it being his second loss in eight flyweight appearances, Jojo’s fighting spirit was commendable.

In June, Jojo experienced his first loss in ONE Championship when he was defeated by Vietnamese veteran fighter, Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat. However, just three months later, Jojo made a triumphant comeback by knocking out Mexico’s Josue Cruz at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado. This victory not only improved his record to 6-1 in ONE Championship, but also earned him a performance bonus of US$50,000 (approximately RM222,000).

Superbon remains optimistic that Jojo will continue to learn and sharpen his skills, fully confident that Jojo will achieve great success and become a champion in the future.
